Actions to Protect Municipal Drinking Water through Activities
At this point in time there is no funding available.
As part of its commitment to safe drinking water and in conjunction with the Clean Water Act, the Ministry of the Environment established the Ontario Drinking Water Stewardship Program, a drinking water support fund to provide financial assistance to landowners enabling them to take action to protect municipal drinking water sources from contamination.
The program ran from 2008 to 2013 and funded projects to help landowners who would be impacted by the Source Protection Plan address activities on their property that pose a significant threat to municipal drinking water sources. These include septic system inspections and repairs and agricultural best management practices.
